About Powering Agriculture

Powering Agriculture: An Energy Grand Challenge for Development supports the development and deployment of clean energy innovations that increase agriculture productivity and stimulate low carbon economic growth in the agriculture sector of developing countries to help end extreme poverty and extreme hunger.

Power Agriculture’s Investment Alliance Partner AlphaMundi has announced an open call for proposals for companies operating at the energy-agriculture nexus seeking catalytic support.

AlphaMundi is actively seeking high-impact investment opportunities among energy-agriculture ventures to deploy capital, R&D grants and targeted technical assistance, including gender workshops.

The AlphaMundi Foundation is seeking to identify and select relevant companies operating at the nexus of clean energy and agriculture, via AlphaMundi Foundation’s Powering Agriculture Investment Alliance ("the Alliance").

The Alliance is part of the Powering Agriculture: An Energy Grand Challenge for Development (PAEGC), funded by USAID, SIDA, Duke Energy and OPIC, to catalyze private sector financing for businesses providing clean energy solutions that increase agriculture productivity and/or value in developing countries. As part of this RFP, this translates into enterprises providing solutions that support sustainable approaches to accelerate the development and deployment of clean energy solutions for the agricultural sector.

Companies can apply under the following umbrellas:

  • Technical Assistance
  • Research & Development
  • Gender Workshops

Submissions are due by Monday, February 4, 2019 by 6:00 p.m. (EST).*

If your company meets the above criteria, please visit the AlphaMundi Foundation website to review the RFP announcement and guidelines.

If you have further inquiries, please reach out via email or via the AlphaMundi Foundation website contact form.

*Please note that if your organization needs additional time due to the recent events that have unfolded in Nairobi, Kenya, we're happy to accommodate an extension.
