About Powering Agriculture

Powering Agriculture: An Energy Grand Challenge for Development supports the development and deployment of clean energy innovations that increase agriculture productivity and stimulate low carbon economic growth in the agriculture sector of developing countries to help end extreme poverty and extreme hunger.

Rebound Technologies, Inc. will partner with Lineage Logistics, the second largest cold storage company in the United States, to deploy and optimize IcePoint™ for industrial applications. Lineage will be the first commercial organization to deploy IcePoint™.

The Rebound team is excited about bringing on board such an important first customer.

“While Rebound currently has a small unit going through third party validation testing with Southern California Edison, this Lineage project represents a huge step forward for Rebound,” said Kevin Davis, CEO and Co-Founder of Rebound Technologies. “Innovation in the refrigeration sector is rare, which makes commercial data critical for industry buy-in. We’re excited to be working with the Lineage team.”

Discussions and modeling efforts with Lineage Logistics have been ongoing for the past year to accurately identify the potential performance and economic incentive offered by IcePoint™.

“IcePoint™ aligns well with our strategic goals towards improved energy efficiency,” said Alex Woolf, Principle Data Scientist at Lineage Logistics. “Rebound has succeeded in developing a potentially sector-changing cooling cycle that our facilities can benefit from tremendously.”

Rebound is the developer of IcePoint™ a cooling technology that powers industrial freezers better and smarter. IcePoint™ boosts legacy refrigeration systems at cold storage warehouses by A) providing supplemental cooling at 40% greater efficiency and B) providing the operational flexibility required to deliver bursts of higher capacity cooling and/or avoid peak energy expenses.

Lineage Logistics, headquartered in Irvine, California, is a warehousing and logistics company built to deliver sophisticated, customized, and dependable cold chain solutions. Lineage Logistics has one of the largest facility networks in the U.S. and an ever expanding reach. They have 110 facilities nationwide, operating over 600M cubic feet of refrigerated space.
