About Powering Agriculture

Powering Agriculture: An Energy Grand Challenge for Development supports the development and deployment of clean energy innovations that increase agriculture productivity and stimulate low carbon economic growth in the agriculture sector of developing countries to help end extreme poverty and extreme hunger.

VentureWell, in association with Investors’ Circle, has been selected to provide Powering Agriculture Innovators with biz-tech development services, investment, and market partnership facilitation.

VentureWell and Investors’ Circle will help speed the development of investment-ready companies with clean tech innovations in agriculture for the Powering Agriculture Xcelerator (PAX) Program.

Investors’ Circle is a large, active, early-stage impact-investing network comprised of hundreds of angel investors, venture capitalists, foundations, and family office investment companies. To date, Investors’ Circle has facilitated investment of nearly $200M into more than 300 enterprises dedicated to improving the environment, education, health, and community.

VentureWell has a long history of effective partnership with private and public partners in early-stage venture development, including the National Science Foundation’s I-Corps™ program, USAID, the Gates Foundation, and incubators and angel investor organizations. Through its E-Team Program, VentureWell has supported more than 500 student teams and facilitated the launch of more than 180 ventures, which have leveraged $600M in follow-on support.
