Powering Agriculture’s Lessons Learned Webinar: Energy Technologies for Agriculture

Over the past six years, Powering Agriculture: An Energy Grand Challenge for Development supported the development of 34 clean energy technologies for the agriculture sector.

A newly conducted final program evaluation determined that over two-thirds of the 34 innovators supported by Powering Agriculture fully developed a market-ready technology, and five technologies are on their way to market diffusion with large, growing sales bases. Collectively, the technologies have leveraged over $50 million in external funding to support their continued development.

Many valuable insights regarding what works and what doesn't, and the challenges of supporting the private sector in scaling these transformative technologies through commercial efforts, were gained during this time. Hear our program management and technical experts’ reflections on the Grand Challenge’s success and challenges, and their recommendations for similar support in the clean energy-agriculture nexus now.
