Chapter 1 provides a program overview; Chapter 2 highlights the year’s activities; Chapter 3 focuses on Innovator activities, impact, and support provided; Chapter 4 describes gender integration efforts.
Sep. 30, 2016—Powering Agriculture releases two midterm assessments; a program-level evaluation of the Powering Agriculture Initiative, and an assessment of the 2013 Innovators’ progress to date.
Mar. 23, 2016—Powering Agriculture: An Energy Grand Challenge for Development (PAEGC) has issued their most recent annual report. The annual report describes the key activities PAEGC implemented over the financial year period of October 2014 to September 2015.
Nov. 18, 2015—The Founding Partners are proud to present the 24 organizations collectively receiving over $25 million in funding under Powering Agriculture’s First and Second Global Calls for Innovations.
Oct. 19, 2015—Powering Agriculture: An Energy Grand Challenge for Development (PAEGC) seeks to identify and support new and sustainable approaches to accelerate the development and deployment of clean energy solutions for increasing agriculture productivity and/or value in developing countries.

Sep. 20, 2016—SEED brief discussing ways in which policymakers catalyze development of the energy/agriculture nexus in East Africa. The brief features Powering Agriculture innovators—Sundanzer, Husk Power Systems, Futurepump and SunCulture.
Nov. 18, 2015—This study aims to provide detailed data on the energy requirements, and possible clean-energy solutions, along three agricultural value chains—milk/dairy, rice and vegetables—to support the design of a development framework that increases the productivity and value generated in rural areas.

Powering Agriculture’s free Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) in cooperation with TH Köln – University of Applied Sciences. This 8-week course introduced challenges and solutions for sustainable energy use in the agriculture and food industry.

Sida’s Gender Tool Box provides knowledge, tools and inspiration on how to operationalize gender equality in development. Updated regularly to reflect a dynamic development context, the Tool Box includes Tools, Briefs and Thematic Overviews.
This two-hour course created by The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) will give consultants around the world the training needed to perform effective and relevant gender analyses necessary for German development cooperation. It provides participants with the relevant framework and understanding of the particularities of GIZ’s management cycle, the purpose of gender analyses, and their outcomes.
